Canadian Immigration Law:

On June 28, 2002, The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act came into force, and the old act was repealed. In early 2004, the Canada Border Services Agency was established. It became responsible for the enforcement functions under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. It also became responsible for Customs Enforcement.

(The old Canada Revenue and Customs Agency, then ceased to be responsible for customs, and it's name was changed to Canada Revenue Agency.)

USA Immigration Law:

On March 1, 2003, The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was created. DHS took over the functions of the Immigration and Naturalizatem Service (INS). The INS ceased to exist after March 1, 2003.
